Special event within the Forum
For the first time, Tashkent will host Presentational cinema show from “The Night of The AdEaters” project of famous Jean Marie Boursicot.
“The Night of The AdEaters” project is a unique show of advertising films of all countries from private collection Cinematheque of famous Jean Marie Boursicot.
Collection Cinematheque of famous Jean Marie Boursicot consists from more than 950 000 advertising clips. It includes all clips, with some minor exceptions, made since late XIX century to nowadays. The collection annually expands by 10 000 – 20 000 clips, since majority of world advertising agencies and private businessmen send their new clips to Boursicot on a gratis basis. Program of “The Night of the Ad Eaters” is drawn up from Cinematheque collection.
Monsieur Boursicot is producing “The Night of the Ad Eaters” for 30 years. Annually the Paris premiere is held in 80 countries.
The project is recorded in the Guinness book under two nominations:
• The biggest collection of advertising films • The longest-running advertising show
Short information about Jean Marie Boursicot
Jean Marie Boursicot was born in 1953 in Marcel. In his childhood Boursicot often visited Marcel cinemas as he liked films very much. Once he noticed a janitor throw pieces of cine films into trash. It turned out that they were advertising clips, which in 1960s were stripped into each film for some time. After ending of advertising campaign these clips were cut out and thrown away as they became useless. Jean Marie decided to collect them. The boy began save them in shoes box, which he kept under bed. In few years more than ten boxes were full of cine films. This was beginning of unique collection of Boursicot, which is nowadays known as Cinematheque. Annually Boursicot himself chooses 400 clips from the collection and makes with them program of “The Night of the Ad Eaters”. Today Boursicot lives in Switzerland.
